Guest Information

FNB JoburgArtFair is located in the heart of Johannesburg, Africa’s financial capital. Johannesburg is home to a burgeoning and vibrant art scene, and a new order of art communities that are seizing the contemporary art agenda around the world with international significance. The event attracts a wide audience, creating a platform for dialogue and exchange, which reaches beyond the realm of the arts. The Fair spearheads a diverse ‘Joburg Art Week’ with various events happening around the city from open studios, gallery openings, workshops and debates.

How do I get a ticket?

Tickets are available online at tixsa.co.za from June of each year, or available for purchase at the door.

School groups may email nicole@artlogic.co.za for special discounted rates.

How are the galleries selected for the Fair?

Each year the application process is open from November through January online and the selection is made in March. The selection is made by our Selection Committee, which is formed of gallerists who participate in the Fair and chaired by our Head of Content in a non-voting capacity.

Who is on the 2019 Fair Selection Committee?

Candace Marshall-Smith, SMITH (Cape Town)
Megan Scott, Everard Read (Johannesburg, Cape Town)
Monna Mokoena, Gallery MOMO (Johannesburg, Cape Town)
Valerie Kabov, First Floor Gallery Harare (Harare)

Can artists apply to exhibit at the Fair?

The Fair only accepts applications from galleries, print studios and non-profit exhibition spaces. Once selected, these spaces in turn select the artists they will exhibit in their booths. The Fair therefore does not accept applications from artists.
